In every room, air purifiers filter your child’s breathing air. Hand sanitizer machines make it easy to reduce the risk of spreading contagions. To protect your family’s health, the cleaning crew thoroughly disinfects and deep-cleans daily.
KINDERGARTEN-READINESS
Learning Beyond Paper launches your child toward kindergarten excellence. They develop the social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language skills. When you combine that with community building skills they are on a journey that will prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.

Each classroom has a dedicated library that is filled with books that will broaden the mind to new horizons. Every month new sets of books are exchanged in order feed the growing minds. Harris & Tucker also has a FREE take home library on-site that allows children to build up their library at home.

PARENT ENGAGEMENT
Join the Parent Achievement Team (PAT). This parent engagement collab meets at least four (4) times a year to talk about ideas, research thoughts, make and move comments that will help the school in a forward-thinking motion. Achieving success for our children is the goal.

The Learning Beyond Paper Curriculum provides children with fun, engaging play-based activities. Our cleaning systems safely and effectively disinfects toys and hard-to-clean, porous materials, as well as fabrics. Our cleaning team works super hard to eradicate germs and viruses.

Restricted access controls, a fenced-in yard, touchless door monitoring and external and internal security cameras work together to protect your child at all times, so you can rest assured they’re safe and sound all day, every day.
INDOOR PLAY-SPACE, PLAY STRUCTURES AND OUTDOOR PLAY EVERY DAY
Time outdoors lets your child explore all the things they can do with their growing bodies: indoor play spaces also help them grow strong. Children love their time outdoors. There are five (5) outdoor structures that enhance playtime: The Courtyard, complete with a patio stage. The Water Park, The Front Flower Garden, The Big Park and The Infant / Toddler Park.

Harris and Tucker School is the only family-owned and operated school that sits on the boarder-line of both the Town of Hamden and the City of New Haven, CT. Public Transportation to and from is easy, care free and within one block of the school. If biking is your mode of transportation our locations are parallel to the Farmington Canal Bike Trail.

We are the only school in our neighborhood with a Preschool Culinary Arts Program.
